What I Learned From Re-watching The Hills in my 20s

What I Learned From Re-watching The Hills in my 20s

Ten years ago, The Hills was everything. I used to envy Lauren’s fashionable and fun life in L.A. It all seemed so perfect.

I was young and naïve at the time. The Hills was popular when I was starting my teen years. At 14 and 15 years old, I never really understood what was happening in their lives, and to be honest, I couldn’t really relate. At the time girls my age envied the show and dreamt of having a trendy and cool life in L.A. like Lauren, Whitney, and Audrina (no one envied Heidi let’s be honest).

Now, I am roughly the same age as Lauren and the girls were when they were filming the show. So, after The Hills 10 year anniversary special aired, I decided to rewatch The Hills from the beginning and see if watching it again would change the way I understood the show. What I never realized before is no matter how much money and fame you have, everyone in their 20s has the same drama, and goes through the same things.

Thank you, LC for teaching me so much that I never realized.

What Happens When Most of Your Friends Are Guys

What Happens When Most of Your Friends Are Guys

I don’t know who coined the phrase “men and women can’t be friends,” but  I am living proof that they definitely CAN be friends.

My core group of friends is dominated by guys. Sure, I have my close girlfriends of course, but I have a solid crew of dudes I am completely comfortable being around without the fear of a potential move being made. Netflix and chill, sans sex.

One of my oldest and best friends is a guy, and I am still close friends with the guys I went to elementary and high school with.

Since I spend so much time around my guy friends, I have begun to notice a thing or two. This is what happens, when most of your friends are guys (please note that these are just my personal experiences with my guy friends, I obviously do not speak for every group of friends, duh). Enjoy.

6 Times Harry Styles’ Hair Was Better Than Yours

6 Times Harry Styles’ Hair Was Better Than Yours

HARRY STYLES CUT HIS HAIR.

I REPEAT.

CUT.

HIS.

HAIR.

That’s right, Harry cut his magical locks off.

MY HEART.

Most people know Harry Styles, the member of the British boy band One Direction, as “the one with the hair.” (If you don’t know who Harry Styles is and you’re reading this post I command you to stop because you will never truly understand this feeling of loss.) The One Direction heartthrob is known for having long, luscious, curly locks. Basically the the combination of his long messy hair and smouldering eyes is pure perfection.

Why Everyone Should Try Sarah’s Soaps

Why Everyone Should Try Sarah’s Soaps

The lack of natural products in the cosmetic market is what pushed Sarah Milan to create her own at home business. Sarah created her own business known as Sarah’s Soaps to fulfill her needs for natural, preservative and chemical free skin care. As a result she began creating handcrafted, natural, vegan, artificial free body lotions, bath soaks, and soaps.

Her goal was to create quality products that would also be good for your skin, and overall health. She sells her products online on the official Sarah’s Soaps website, as well as at local craft markets, and salons.

I have tried a variety of her products and I have basically become OBSESSED! I have always had problems with my skin. It’s either too dry, rough, or covered in breakouts. It wasn’t until I realized that this could be from the harsh chemicals in some of the body washes and scrubs I was using.

soap

One of the biggest life savers I’ve tried is Sarah’s “FACIAL PHILTER” soap. Activated with natural charcoal, and enriched with bentonite clay, and dead sea mud, this soap is formulated to detoxify, cleanse, nourish, and treat problem prone skin. It cleans pores of impurities and clarifies the skin to heal and prevent breakouts without drying your skin! This product is amazing! Especially if you’re prone to breakouts. The soap can be used not only on your face, but also on your shoulders, chest, etc. if you are prone to body breakouts! It’s a life saver.

I have also tried a couple of the other body soaps as well – “Butt Naked” and “Peppermint” (which was a holiday scent). The bars of soap leave my skin feeling smooth, clean, and fresh. They come in a variety of scents, so I always smell amazing! However, lately I’ve been using the “Butt Naked” soap, which is unscented. I really like the neutral kind of smell it leaves, and I always feel squeaky clean and super soft after using it, especially if I exfoliate first.
